| San Jose,CA area: New home needed for rescued female Yorkie, ~13 yrs old Short version: we found a stray Yorkie, we named her Dori, back in early Feb, got her all fixed up and has been staying with us since. However, with a 6 month old, a 3.5 yr old, and a Boston Terrier already at home, it has become too difficult to take care of 2 kids and 2 dogs. My wife is also very allergic to Dori . Dori is ~13 yrs old, ~7.5 lbs, has a bad knee and needs to be taken out to go pee every few hours. She can usually hold her pee overnight though. She is very loving and just wants to sit in your lap . Adoption fee of ~$250. We spent well over $700 on the emergency vet visit, all the shots, and even a full blood test. Here is a pic right after we got her shaved. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...9/IMG_7260.jpg |

| Have you considered turning her over to a reputable Yorkie Rescue. They know how to do all the proper screening home visits , vet checks. etc. They would ensure she went to the rite home where she would be properly cared for as ageing pets can be expensive to care for and you wouldn't want her thrown from home to home at this time in her life and she deserves the best. |

| If the rescues in your area are full, consider keeping her in your home while working with the rescue and letting them help screen potential buyers, if they would consider helping you that way.

| Rescues don't normally work this way. You have 2 choices, 1 sell her for the money or 2 Do what's best for her. I would do what's best for her and turn her over to a reputable Yorkie Rescue. |
