| Looks like it would work. What is the cost? If not to much I'd try it.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think they're $24.95...not bad really. Looks like such a great concept...sure wish I knew someone who has actually used them, before ordering. I'm not against those other "gentle leaders" you see out there, but I just don't want to use one on a pit bull (especially) bc of the part that goes around the muzzle and how that might look on a pit bull and the potential for discrimination against the breed. Whereas, this "walker" has no real "muzzle" look to it, which I think is just such a leap !

| Sounds interesting but, I'd like to see it in action...do they have a video presentation anywhere to view? I don't know if I'd try this on a Yorkie but, a Pitbull perhaps. When I had Airedales, I had to use a "pinch" collar (with the protective nubs) on them and they walked like angels after one pinch.

| I have never heard of this. Looking at the picture in the second link, it looks like it would be easy to make yourself!

Oh man, that probably sounds so lazy....just a lot going on lately. Darn, I wish there were more testimonials somewhere bc *WOW* - I had to take Ambrey to the spay/vet this morning myself - and I really could *not* contain her strength...it's really not safe...bc she's all "WOO HOO, let's GO!" and I need to be able to contain her better...she's just too strong for me .

I used it for four training sessions. She was NOT injured...she learned to walk on a lead and I have had zero problems since. I know what everyone is going to say...yorkie...collapsed trachea...honestly there was only a second of using it...no tugging and pulling. She is fine! She did SO well...and she is SO manageable now. Funny...I guess it was the mother / pack leader thing. I never used it again and she is still FINE.

I really need advice here. The rescue does have a behavioralist / trainer, so I will get him on board w/ us too - bc she needs to be worked with before her forever home, the TURDESS . I'm just a little lost w/ this kind of power...I should probably look in Training too...I bet there is already good stuff in there...

Well...the friend who talked me into it is a lab rescuer and also a trainer. She swears by those collars with the power breeds. She works a lot with pits. I really was afraid...I thought they were creepy. Not so. They do not hurt the dog. One little pull..and they stop pulling! I don't know if you would see it in training...not exactly a yorkie problem.

| I used a pinch/prong collar on my lab Bridget and it worked wonders for her. Even at 4 months old, she could pull you right around the block with little effort. It made walking her so much easier. And it's true, it gives them a small correction and doesn't cause any pain or injuries if it's used correctly. Bridget needed it, she weighs about 75 pounds. That's a lot of lab.

| i don't know what it's called, but i recommend the collar/harness that pulls the dog towards you when the dog tries to pull. when milu went to puppy school, one of her classmates- a golden lab was so strong that it was hard for his owner to walk him without getting injured. they tried the chock collar but it doesn't work at all. then they tried this cool harness/collar? that basically pulls the dog the opposite direction the dog is trying to go. so the owner didn't really have to use any strength because everytime the lab tried to pull, he just gets turned towards the owner instead. basically, i think the harness makes the dog turn in a circle when it tries to pull, does anyone know what this type of harness is called?
