Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I watched - a (few) people are killing the dogs who are searching for their owners but they Air National Guard is trying to round them up - VERY Sad. It was a great shot at the end with a dog being saved ...(no dogs were killed on this video but you could hear shots) - but it does give an idea of how many homeless pets there are out there right now in stress and looking for their homes. What an unbelievable tragedy for those poor pets - How can we help them all ? It's mindboggling and we just all have to hope that their owners will come for them or they find new homes - and it's not looking good for either of those at this time |

| Have you seen this picture? It was in the Sunday paper. This was the caption: In New Orleans, an emaciated dog roams the deserted and waterlogged I-610 highway.

| The picture of that poor dog makes me mad! I want to hit someone. That was a neglected dog to begin with, I volunteer at the Humane Society and a dog does not get that emaciated in less than two weeks. That poor baby. It is not enough that those poor folks are homeless but to know that they cannot save their beloved pets. I would die before I would leave my boys, cause in lots of ways they have saved my life. I have donated to the ASPCA, and also have sent discount coupons for the purchase of dog food (I had a couple of totally free ones), anything that we can do to help. If I was closer, I would gladly foster some of them, but unfortunately, I am too far away. |

It took longer than any 2 weeks for that poor dog to get in that kind of shape. Unbelievable.

| I realized that when I saw this photo, because the dogs I'd seen on TV news weren't so skinny.
