Animal Smiley 019 Older girl needs a home

http://www.hua.org/Dogs-For-Adoption/Ozana.html

Ozana came from a terrible puppy mill. At her first vet visit she lost 7 teeth due to poor nutrition and lack of care at the mill. Ozana is such a sweet, darling girl. She is a bit shy, but she loves to be picked up and held and she also loves to play with Marlene and with her toys.

Ozana is a female Yorkie. She was born in November of 1997 and weighs 8.5 pounds.

Don't know what has gotten to me this eve. but I am so sad by what I've been reading. I clicked on the site you posted and read the list of doggies the rescue has available. So many---and who will choose to love them? Can't believe how naive I have been all these years---so complacent. Joanne

This little girl has grabbed my heart as well, but given that she is being cared for by a rescue organization - I am going to assume I wouldn't qualify. I've already spend endless hours applying to organizations like this only to be rejected again and again. I hope somebody can find it in their heart to offer this beautiful girl a loving home.

Jamie. I was thinking about you when I posted this. This rescue has a lot of animals. Maybe you could check with them & see if you would be eligible. They are in Nebraska, I'm not exactly sure where, but if you qualify with this rescue maybe we could get a yorkie train going and help get her or one of the dogs to you - or at least to northern Minnesota. I would be willing to help.

I know you have had lots of heartbreak - but please don't be afraid to ask here. My heart does break for all you've been through.

I'll make an inquiry and let you know what they say.

Thanks for your kind words and offer to help. That may just make adopting a rescued Yorkie possible for me.

Here is the response to my offer to take on a dog that needs medical treatment:

Hello. Thanks for your email. We don't have any special needs Yorkies at this time. It does sound like a nice arrangement you have going. Perhaps a Yorkie rescue group would have a dog in need. Check www.petfinder.com to see if there is a dog who needs your help there.
We do appreciate the offer. Our adoption donation often barely covers what we do for the dogs when they first come to us so we are not able to waive any fees.
We appreciate your caring.

I am currently doing as she suggests, without any luck ... yet.

would they consider you, even though you have a child in your home? I am serious about helping with a Yorkie Train if you can swing the $200 adoption fee.

I could help too if she goes east or south or north!! Going to Atlanta by car later this month, driving thru St. Louis, Nashville, etc

Their adoption fee is only $200 -- and they do fly if you don't want a Yorkie Train
