Silk Step-In's - lots of new color selections

I would like to thank all my wonderful YT family for your continued support. In the four years I have been offering Dupioni Silk Harnesses both on YT and by private sales I have not raised prices and I will not be raising prices for Spring 2009 with one exception. I have increased the price of the embellished - Flowers AND Crystals option by $5.00 for per piece to cover the cost of the flowers. I have also added an exciting new product - the Walk Nice harness. It is a custom fit, Dupioni Silk Harness with an added "D" ring at the center chest to allow for more control over leash pullers. This harness is shown in the 4th picture below and developed at the urging of a fellow YT member.

Silk Step-In Harnesses came into being because I couldn’t find a harness that was SAFE, small enough and gentle on their fragile hair. I spent a long time in R/D with different types of styles and fabrics. I chose Dupioni Silk and the step in style for the following reasons:

1) Silk is gentle on delicate hair and is incredibly strong. They have a simple elegance that just can't be beat and there is a color for everyone - 35 high quality Dupioni Silks to choose from: DupioniSilkSelections
2) The harnesses are so light weight that your furkid won't even notice that he/she is wearing one.
3) There is NOTHING in the throat area - the straps fit across the center of the chest and under the belly.
4) There is a double safety factor because the buckle AND both "D" rings attach to the leash.
5) They are so easy to put on it is almost unbelievable! Think of the harness as a "bra without cups" one leg goes through each hole. The silk straps snuggle around the sides and with one snap at center back the harness is on. Attach the leash to the two "D" rings and you are ready for a walk.
6) I do not carry an inventory -- yet. Each order is custom-fit for YOUR furbaby using the measurements you provide.

Matching leashes and Take2 Couplers are also available. The Take2 allows you to walk two dogs with one leash. Each Link of the Take2 is adjustable in length and can be made in separate colors to match the harnesses.

Cindy, please explain the walk nice harness a little more. Do you attach you leash to the d-ring in the center of the chest? Sorry to sound dumb, I just cant picture this. Moose is a "puller", I am wondering about it for him.

I too am curious. Is it suppose to work like the "gentle leader" where if your baby pulls it immediately turns them around? Is that how it works?

The Walk Nice harness is a traditional, custom fit silk step-in harness with the addition of a center "D" ring to give you options. You can use this harness as a traditional step-in by attaching the leash to the two "D" rings at center back. For more control and directed walks, you attach the leash to the center chest "D" ring. With a bit of practice on your part you will be able to redirect your little one when he/she starts to forge ahead. The object is to turn the chest and head towards you (the rest of the dog will follow) so that the dog is facing you. I recommend that the center chest "D" ring be used for directed training sessions and rather than for causual walks so that your puller will quickly learn that every time he/she pulls on the leash he will wind up going in the opposite direction. Your walks should become much more pleasant in a very short amount of time using the Walk Nice harness combined with positive reinforcement.

What crystals and flowers can you add and where do you add them? Do you only add them to the harness or do you also add them to the leash?

What crystals and flowers can you add and where do you add them? I only use genuine Swarovski Crystals and a variety of flowres, mostly organza. I have a new placement format that I implemented last fall. The exact number of crystals and/or flowers will depend upon harness size and leash length. The crystals/flowers are placed on the buckle seciton of the harness only and the entire length of the leash. I also have an assortment of RhineStuds (similar to rhinestones, but made from metal) - please pm me if you are interested in RhineStuds as I have not had time to add them to the Foxypups Gallery.

Cindy, I was soooooooo ready to order three step in harness if only one of your new colors had been plum. A friend is going to make them plum cotton sweaters and I'd love the plum harnesses. Bummer!!!
