I need a GOOD BOOK??? I need a good book to help me help TJ and Roxy: Roxy has become very submissive and has a submissive urination. I need to build her confidence. She also wants to be picked up but when you pick up she is terrified and becomes stiff and glued to you. She has gotten a little better with this. I try to give her lots of positive attention and I am trying to teach them to give me a kiss to distract them. TJ is becoming a little monster...He is always attacking Roxy, biting her ears and tail and back legs. He takes her toys and her Nutri Dent (poor girl). He always wants to sit on my lap and if she comes over and gets some of my attention, he gets mad and attacks her. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

hmmm I have never read any books so maybe someone else would have a suggestion, but I would probably go toe the book store or search online for the specific issue and then choose a method of how you want to help it. Maybe go to the book store and browse, there are soo many

I just read the best book. They have it DOGWISE... Called "living with small and toy dogs". It's how to train them and understand/retrain for the problems they have. Also - "Little Dogs by Deborah WOods. It has several chapters on their special problems too. These have really opened my eyes and helped me with my 10 year old yorkie and I just got them. She was starting to do some things recently and they have really helped.

I think I am going to get these and see if they help! Help for your Shy Dog (Deborah Wood) and How to be the leader of the pack (Patricia McConnell) The descriptions of these two seem to list what I need right now... Thanks for that site!

Not sure who Deborah Wood is just be careful if is says be firm or alpha roll or make the dog. MAking a fearful dog do anything will come back and bite you. Go slow Dogwise is great for books.

I just ordered this one for now: Help for your Shy Dog (Deborah Wood) This was the description: Turning Your Terrified Dog into a Terrific Pet. Contents include: Understanding: The First Step on the Road to Recovery; Socialization: Teaching Your Dog to Cope; Little Things Mean a Lot; Training: The Best Gift You Can Give Your Dog; Tips for Training a Shy Dog; More of the Real World; The Worst Behaviors: Uncontrolled Urination, Nervous Defecation and Fear-Biting; Adding a Second Dog; Fun, Games and Activities. Each chapter is illustrated with a case history of a formerly shy dog. So I hope this will help me and if not I will have to get different books!!! THANKS AGAIN!
