| If you are frustrated with limited selection of collars in stores . . . I sure have been. I went to the big box stores and the specialty pet stores and found the selection of small dog collars quite limited. In my search, I ran across a really wonderful site where sellers list handmade goods. There's an incredible selection of dog collars . . . Handmade Pet Collars on Etsy - Adjustable, beaded, modern, leather collars Hope this helps someone! |

| I don't use a collar on Louis, because it can collapse yorkies trachea. I use a harness. There is a member on YT that makes collars and harnesses. Her username is chattiesmom. There are a lot of great reviews about them! |

| I am so glad I have this website or I wouldn't have known that about the harnesses being the way to go. I got one with a leash and collar that all match. So cute. I was only planning to use the collar for tags when I take Knox out with me. I don't have him home yet. Do you think that will be ok?

| That website is also great, Cari! Thanks for the info. I should have clarified also that I would only recommend using a collar for identification purposes. I'm planning on using a puppia harness for walking purposes when my pup arrives at the end of the month because of the trachea issue you raised, lil louis. I learned the hard way that having a collar with an ID tag is really useful. My last dog slipped out of the house once and I spent three nerve-wracking days flyering the neighborhood with hundred of flyers and visiting dog shelters, when my dog was actually picked up that very night by a nice elderly neighbor who lived only a few blocks away. She didn't have a car (and didn't see my flyers because she wasn't very mobile) and therefore failed to turn the dog into the shelter where the scanners would have picked up on his microchip. Her son came over a few days later, took a picture and posted my dog as found on craigslist. I could have saved myself so much heartache if I had just had a collar + tags on the dog. I've also heard really great things about the silk harnesses by chattiesmom. I just ordered her Valentine's Day special for her yorkie yummies (also a big hit with YT dogs!) and she's been an absolutely fantastic seller to work with. |

| I just posted a reply about this, Cari Oh, I didn't realize you don't have Knox yet - I'm waiting for my puppy, Taji, to be old enough to take home, too! Be sure to post some pictures! The wait is so torturous! |

| This is correct. Both of mine wear a collar with their tag on it. Anytime I need to put a leash on them they wear a harness. In fact a leash is not put on them unlelss they are wearing a harness.
