| Seriously? Tucker has sensitive skin and allergies so I use Biogroom's Soothing Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioner. It smells great and he looks beautiful after a bath BUT the directions say to let it soak for 5 minutes before rinsing. Um, seriously? How do you keep them from shaking it all off or licking it for 5 minutes? Tucker doesn't hate baths but he doesn't love them either. How in the world am I supposed to keep him lathered and still for 5 minutes? What do you do?

I'm going through the same thing but the Shampoo said 2 mins for me. I Shampoo them first then brush their teeth for 2 mins. It keeps them preoccupied. Then rinse, then conditioner, give them a massage, then rinse. While I'm doing all this, I keep their mind occupied by coaxing them, "your such a good boy/girl, mommy give you cheese or mommy cook you chicken for being good boy/girl". This works everytime and they will behave and be a good little statue until I finish with them but you really have to give them a treat afterwards or they won't believe you next time they are taking a bath. | Its hard well at least for me too. I have the same conditioner for Mimi due to her allergies and all and she refuses to sit in the tub with it on. She's a big whiner and all she does is scream and cry and it gets louder and louder. My vet gave me a shampoo that I had to leave on for 10 minutes I told the vet I cannot keep a condioner on her for 2 mins now 10 mins for this. I just stopped using it. Maybe you can wrap him up in a towel and hold him? |

| I actually just gave them a bath last night. All three were in the hallway looking at me with their sideways look. Then I asked them, "ok who wants to take a bath?" I just said this once, then went to the bathroom in the tub waiting on who my first volunteer is. Then Wookie shows up, looking very sad but he climbed the tub anyway (because daddy was in the bathroom too, he does anything for daddy) so I started praising him, "aaawww that's a good boy Wookie, mommy cook you CHICKEN for being good boy", he just loves to hear the words "chicken" and "good boy". Then next up was Naboo, laying down right outside the door (Squeekie is also laying down way farther behind Naboo). I told Naboo, "ok Naboo your next", then she took off so fast in the other bedroom. Then her daddy said "Go to momma and take a bath" then too my surprise, here she comes dragging her butt going inside the bathroom. She didn't climb the tub like Wookie but just laid down her butt firm on the floor about 10 inches away from the tub. OMG I started laughing my butt off, it was the very first time in her whole life she did that. I think all to hear that I will cook Chicken for her too. As for Squeekie, her daddy had to chase and find her somewhere hiding under the bed or someplace I don't know. But yeah, she eventually took her bath too. |
