| [News] Stolen Yorkie Returned to Kennel A 7-week-old Yorkshire terrier stolen from a Stahlstown kennel more than a week ago was returned unharmed Tuesday evening. State police in Greensburg are investigating the heist and subsequent return of the puppy. The terrier, worth $1,500, was stolen from the Little Paws Kennel. Trooper Robert Darr said police are still investigating, but they believe they know who took the puppy. "We are going to pursue criminal charges if that's what the [kennel] owner wishes," he said. Darr would not disclose the name of the suspects. The kennel owners, Judi and George Seigh, say that on Aug. 8, a woman and her 17-year-old foster son, who is believed to be mentally challenged, entered the kennel pretending to want a terrier. Judi Seigh said her husband took the woman around the kennel and showed her a female puppy. After George Seigh told the woman she could not have that one because it had already been sold, the woman told him she preferred a male puppy. The woman then requested to visit with the puppies' parents. Meanwhile, Judi Seigh said, the teen walked around to the front and took the female puppy while no one was looking. "When my husband and the woman returned to the front, she started yelling for the boy to close the door to the car," said Judi Seigh. The woman then asked for the price of the puppies. George Seigh wrote down her name, address and telephone number -- information that turned out to be bogus, said his wife. After the woman drove away, Seigh searched for the puppy, then phoned police when he determined it was gone. About 45 minutes later, the woman phoned the kennel to ask if they had determined the price of the puppies. At that point, Seigh told the woman he had contacted the police and asked her to return the puppy. "She gave us the name of someone I knew when we asked her how she had heard of the kennel," said Judi Seigh. That person later returned the terrier to its owners. Seigh said it was unfortunate that the woman used her son to help take the puppy. "Instead of her teaching this kid right from wrong, she is teaching him how to steal," she said. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05230/555818.stm |

| Thank god that the puppy was returned safe and unharmed. That woman should have been arested because she seriously could have injured the puppy alot. She does not deserve to be let go.

| I think it's bad enough when people steal material items, but it seems so much worse to steal a living, breathing animal! Also, this lady should be teaching her son right from wrong rather than how to steal! She needs to have the book thrown at her! |
