| What age - First heat?? At what age is normal/average for yorkies to have their first heat? Does weight play a part in this??? Maybe a stupid question, but just wondering

| When hormones are ready to kick in they do so. Heat usually for a first one, I find in my line, is usually 8 months to 10 months. Smaller ones are sometimes later but not always. I have had them come in at 7 or 7 1/2 months too. |

| I was thinking I read someone say it started around 6-7 months so was kinda worrying that Sophie is 8 mnths & nothing yet. So I wondered if smaller ones took a while longer to "start" Thansk for the feeback, very helpful. I HAVE to get me a diaper soon.

| I've been wondering that ? also...Izzie just turned 7 mths so I know the time is getting close. I need to take her in to be spayed but don't know if I should do it before her first heat or wait till she has at least had one....

| We had Rusty nuteured vs having Sophie spayed. She is so little we were afraid of having her done so we opted for Rusty instead. He did great and is jumping around and playing chase like nothing ever happened.
