| He doesn't even like Nurti-cal...how do I get it in him? Ok, so Percy has a tapeworm and has lost a little bit of weight. He also has acid reflux so that kills his appetite as well. He is taking meds for the worms and Pepsid for the acid, the vet said that in the meantime that I should give him some Nutri-cal if he isn't eating at least 300 calories of his food a day (which he isn't) Now, I have NEVER met a dog or cat that doesn't wolf this stuff down. Percy is sooooo picky, he won't eat it, lick it, go within a hundred feet of it. I even tried the trick where you put it on their paw so they are forced to lick it off....he actually figured out a way to roll around on my carpet until his paw is clean. Ugh, ever try to get Nutri-cal out of carpet? Not fun. So, any other ideas on how I can trick him into eating this stuff? He isn't touching his food, the paw and nose trick didn't work....so....now what? It's too goopy to just shoot into his mouth with a med dropper. I really want to get some vitamins into him, he is starting to look deficient.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | if he's not willingly eating it then i would put it on your finger and then put your finger in his mouth and scrape it along the roof of his mouth. i do this with my cat and laxatone. he may hate it but at least he's eating it.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You could also use karo syrup if you're purely looking to get some calories into him - I've seen that subsituted for nutrical before.

| Maybe he would eat a home cooked meal. Did you try boiled chicken and white rice?
