| Washing Precious too Much!!? How often should I wash my Yorkie? She doesn't go outside much but when she does I kinda forget that she's a dog and I try to wash her as much as possible and she doesn't like it ....and i think that me washing her is making her itch...(from dry skin) is this possible? What should I do?

| According to the vet she shouldn't be getting bathed more then 1x every 2-3 weeks, I bathe my puppy every week using the chris christensen shampoo and conditioner (many of the yorkie talk members swear by it and it really works great)...if you do wash them too often they will get itchy and their coat will flake and they have certain oils that they need on their skin that washing takes away..in between baths I wash the puppy with puppy wipes and I use Johnsons's and Johnson's no tangle spray to brush out the coat daily (never brush a dry coat..supposedly)..GOOD LUCK |

| archie gets dirty quicker than most dogs because he's out a lot, so generally, I bathe him once a week or one every two weeks. Probably less often in the winter. I use puppy shampoo and Pantene conditioner. Pantene (extra voluminizing) works wonders... |

| I noticed that same thing with my Yorkie. I was bathing her once a week and her skin started getting really dry. Now I only bathe her every two weeks. Her skin is improving. |

| Oscar's hair gets kind of moppy looking easily, so I bathe him once or twice a week. I use puppy shampoo and a good conditioning rinse. In between baths I use a spray-on coat conditioner--it makes his coat look nice and he smells great |

I try to bathe Jojo every 3 weeks. His coat seems to look better that way. I didn't know about the "don't brush a dry coat" rule. Anymore info on that? I have only brushed him when he's dry. Oh my! | |

| I only brush a dry coat also. Lily would really through a fit if I spritzed her down before brushing.

| I've had Chewy a month and have only given him one bath. I have washed his bottom a bit when he had a messy poo but other than that he has been fine. I comb him daily but do not wet him in any way, should we be doing this? I've never heard of this. |
