How to soothe a sick puppy? Hello: Last night at around midnight my baby woke up and started throwing up and didn't stop for 1.5 hours....for the last 45 minutes she was just dry heaving. It was so hard to see her whole little body convulsing like that . By the end she was just so exhausted that she fell right asleep. We called the vet and they just said not to feed her overnight and see how she was in the morning. She slept through the night and seems ok this morning however I left her with my fiance and had to come to work. I believe they are both still asleep, I hope she eats something when she wakes up. Do you guys have any tips on how to make your baby feel more comfortable in a situation like this?? Thanks.

Oh poor baby!! How old is your puppy? I don't want to alarm you but anything that throws up for an hour and a half needs medical attention in my opinion. It is not normal. Not to mention that these little guys cannot go more than two hours without eating in order to prevent hypoglycemia. I am not a vet but it just doesn't sound right to me. Is she up and eating now?

She is 6 months old, this is the first time she's ever been sick. Well, she was throwing up every 10 minutes for 1.5 hours. My fiance said she had a little diarrhea this morning but has since been her normal cutie pie self. I figured out what made her sick though. She was being babysat at my mom's place overnight and my mom forgot to put her boiled chicken in the fridge and it was left out overnight....and then she fed it to her the next day!!!! I just found this out today and there is no way in hell I would've ever fed my little 4 pounder chicken that was left out of the fridge (my mom having grown up on a farm has a different belief) - in any case, this is almost definitely what made her sick. I think it's out of her system now but I am watching her very carefully. And my mom feels terrible... She ate her lunch like a little champ and is playing like normal...thank goodness...however, my worry will not be over until I see a firm stool!
