| My puppy's back in the hospital Well I got my puppy Sam last Wednesday from my boyfriend for a graduation present. I was so happy, but I noticed his nose was runny and wet. So we took him to vet Sunday b/c he had labored breathing and started coughing. They kept him until Wednesday b/c his lungs sounded congested (pneumonia). Well Wednesday I brought him home b/c he was eating again and running all over. He was taking his oral antibiotics really well. Well yesterday I had to take him to the vet our breeder uses b/c it is free. He started the labored breathing again, coughing more, and not eating or taking his medication. They put him back on IV, antibiotics, and are using the nebulizer (which they didn't use at the other vet). I talked to the dr today and she said he's still pretty congested, but seems to be doing a bit better. We will probably have him home Tuesday or Wednesday. Do you think he got worse again b/c we took him off the IV and antiobiotics too soon? I'm hoping that b/c he was improving at the first vet that he will improve here, but be able to get full treatment this time. I just wish he was healthy so he can live a happy puppy life. I've been so stressed b/c of this and I've heard of puppies not making it b/c they are so tiny. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this topic? Thanks so much for listening to me and helping me out.

Life just isn't fair sometimes is it? How little is he? I am so glad your breeder is helping you it sounds like. She probably has a godd vet so at least he is in good hands. | Thank You Thank you so much for your support. It really is terrible that he has to go through this. He's probably so confused going from one vet to another being hooked up to those machines. Thanks for your prayers. He's 11 wks now and he weighed 2 lbs last week, but when we brought him home Wednesday-Friday, he ate like a little piggy so he might have gained some more. Hopefully that's the case! I will keep you posted.

| Hi Kendra- I just wanted to let you know that I am so sorry about Sam. I hope everything goes well and that he will be home in no time. Try not to worry, sometimes they are much stronger than we think they are. I also just got my puppy Emmie this Wednesday from my boyfriend as a graduation present. Well I hope everything goes well. Keep us updated. Take Care.

| Thanks. I just graduated from Rutgers w/ a major in psychology. I'm going back to school for nursing next year though. Thanks for wishing Sam well. I just get so nervous reading all these posts b/c some of them make me doubtful. I just have to trust that the drs are doing everything that they can and if it worked last week I'm sure he'll start improving again, but just needs to stay there longer. I miss him so much and I hate missing these precious days with him. He's growing and I don't want to miss that!

| Update on Sam I just talked to the vet and they said Sam is doing well, which means he's eating and alert. I didn't talk to the actual dr b/c they said there are a lot of emergencies today. Anyways, I told the girl that I don't really feel comfortable bringing him home yet b/c the same thing happened last time. They said he was doing well, we brought him home, 3 days later he got sick again. So, tomorrow she said I can talk to a doctor and see what they say, but if he's doing well there's no need for him to be there any longer than tomorrow. I don't know what to do b/c I want him to be on treatment long enough so when he comes home he won't have to go through this again. Plus, the vet is all the way in Queens, NY and I live in NJ.
