| After Frontline ---->Bath? Hi Everyone, just recently our Gigi had a Tick and we got it removed by the vet and he treated him after that with Frontline which will have effect against Tick&Fleas for 2months, but I wonder now if I will bath him if the Frontline stuff will loose its effect? Does Anyone know? Many thanks, D. |

| I'm pretty sure you are supposed to wait a day or two before you bathe them so that all of the stuff gets absorped into the skin. I know you do that with other kinds, and I don't think that Frontline would be any different. If you can avoid a bath for a day or two, that would be best. But after that, it should be fine.

| We usually wait at least 4 days before we will bathe a dog that has been treated with Frontline or Spot on. This way you are sure that the preventative has been absorbed by the skin and then it wont lose its effectiveness. Wow, I am pretty gosh darn proud of myself, with as tired as I am right now I can not tear myself away from YT and I am still able to use big words and spell them so that they are somewhat correct. | it says on the package that the dog should be dry 24 hrs before and after you apply frontline. it will not lose it's "potency" due to baths, swimming, rain, etc. also i think it's only effective against ticks for 1 month. and not even that long when your dog is at the upper end of the weight range. |

| My Vet actually recommended to put it on at least 3 days after a bath and waiting 3 days afterwards to give them a bath. I don't know if its really necessary to wait that long or not.I wouldn't think that the 3 days before are as important but I would try and hold off on a bath for as long as you can afterwards (a couple days at least). But other than when you first put it on baths and swimming doesn't effect it.

| In NY the vet here gave Guinness the lyme series and since I found out the person who told me yorkies do not get fleas is not true. I have gotten Advantage from my vet. I do the Shepherd and the yorkie now with both. |

| I think all animals can get flesa...the vet combs through Maximus' hair everytime to make sure his has no flea..or anything crawling around there...all the dogs get combed whether they are there for shots or major surgery |

| Advantix I use Advantix for my puppy. You apply it between his shoulder blades 1X per month. The vet said to wait at least 2 days after a bath and to wait a few days after before bathing him. Also the vet said to use "non-detergent" shampoo so the stuff does not lose it's effectiveness. I got this shampoo at PetSmart. |
