| Shivering Yorkie Does anyone else have a yorkie that shivers? This a new thing that my Moxie has started doing. It isn't cold in the house but all of a sudden he starts to shiver? I've tried holding him in a blanket but he still keeps shivering....any suggestions?

| JoJo shivers when he gets scared or nervous but less now than when we first brought him home. He shivered all the way home from the breeders! I don't think it had to do with him being cold, just aprehensive. Did something startle your baby lately? Could he be remembering/associating a noise or something that made him uncomfortable with another action that was occuring at the same time and it's making him nervous? If it came out of nowhere and there is no explanation maybe you should ask your vet.

| shivering yorkie Hi, my baby Amos shivers if he's excited or cold. At first when I brought him home he shivered when we went out to potty because the first week it was like 19 outside, but he also does it when he gets really excited, I wouldn't be concerned.

| Scared? Nervous? (self confidence) Excited?-doesn't sound like it. Low blood sugar level? Those really are the only things I can think of personally, unless she's been injured badily recently. I'm assuming you would've mentioned that. |

| None of the above....he'll just be doing his thing and starts to shiver. He's a tuff little guy and isn't afraid of anything. He's a good size weighing in at 8 lbs. Very healthy! It's been a few days since he's done it. I guess I'll see if he starts it again and if he does I'll ask the vet. Thanks for your response!

| Mine shivers when I baby talk to him. He stretches on the floor and shivers and licks my face.........also when he is in the car (anxiety) and when it's cold in the house (the floor is usually colder since they are near it).....so I put clothes on him.

| Shaking Yorkie We have a toy yorkie named Kal-el (4 years old) who shakes/shivers when he is cold or when he hasn't eaten enough and sometimes just for no good reason at all! He is hypoglycemic so we try to make sure he eats enough although he is a very picky eater so if the food doesn't have fresh cooked chicken, he wants nothing to do with it! Shaking/shivering is normal, to an extent, with small breeds. If it gets to a point where it starts to scare you, take your puppy to the vet. Good Luck! |
