| Nervous Odor I have a 2yr old Yorkie who lately seems to be letting off an odor. I first noticed it when we were packing to go out of town about 3 weeks ago. As soon as she seen the suitcase, she would not let me out of her site. I promised her over and over that she was going with us. When I picked her up to hug her, I noticed she had a strange scent. An unpleasant scent at that! I wondered what she had gotten into. I bathed her and thought no more of it. Then a couple of days later (while on the trip) she got a little nervous because we were around a lot of people and I suddenly noticed the scent was back! Last night we were dressing to go out to a Christmas party, she became sad because she knew we were leaving the house. Again, she would not leave my side. I picked her up to give her a kiss and there was the scent AGAIN! It seems to be coming from around her pee-pee area. It is a VERY strong scent and will not wash off easily. It also seems to be when she is sad or nervous or maybe just mad. We work and have another dog so its not like she is not use to us going in and out of the house. I don't think she has had this problem in the past. Is this normal? |

| Has she been spayed? If not, maybe she is in heat. My Molly has a musky smell when she is in heat. |

| Maybe it's her anal glands? My Starr used to "leak" from there when she was upset or nervous, it smells like rotten tuna, ewwwwwwww!!!

| The anal glands in a dog act very similar to those in a skunk, and they can expel from nervousnes, or anxiety, or fear. |

| Definitely agree with the anal gland. Take her to the vet and get it checked out........she might just need them expressed.
