| I need advice on dog food Hello! I have had Bailey on Royal Canin since I've had her at 10 weeks. At a year I switched her to Royal Canin Yorkie adult food. I don't feed(rarely) her any table food, and she really doesn't like treats, but she has had diarhea off and on the last few weeks. I have taken her to the vets and she said she is healthy and hasn't lost any weight but I have white carpet and she doesn't always make it in to her litter box. She woke me up at 4 am a couple of mornings ago to clean up her litter box and the laundry room and to give her a bath. sighhh She is still really playful and alert, hair and skin look good. I need some recommendations on a good healthy food. No Nutro Max, that makes her throw up. Thanks, Michele & Bailey |

| Sorry your baby is under the weather. Do you really think it is the food? Try feeding her boiled white meat chicken and rice for a couple of days before intruducing her to new food. See if that clears up the diahrea first, if it does than you know it is the food. If not possibly parasites. I use Natural Balance Organic. It has a good rating and has small kibbles. It is put out by Dick Van Patten. It is all human grade quility. I hope she feels better and the chicken and rice work. It usually does. Carol & Buddy |

| Bailey is really cute, I love the hair cut on the picture. When I received my puppy he was on Eukanuba. A lady with 2 yorkies in the pet store told me to try proplan. So I started mixing the proplan in and slowly started taking the Eukanuba out. He was doing fine with that up to 2 years old. I have just recently tried the royal canin yorkie breed, and he is not eating it like he did the proplan. Hopefully Bailey will feel better.

| [QUOTE=ARCHIE]Sorry your baby is under the weather. Do you really think it is the food? Try feeding her boiled white meat chicken and rice for a couple of days I don't know if it is her food or not, I have been watching her very carefully and she hasn't eaten anything she's not supposed to. I did take her to San Fransico with us last weekend, and carried her around with me in her purse carrier, she didn't mind and slept most of the time all snuggled up. How much rice and chicken do you feed them? White rice? Brown rice? Last edited by I Love Bailey; 11-30-2006 at 02:01 PM. |

| I fed her a half a cup of white rice and boiled chicken tonight; she just gobbled it up. There wasn't even a grain of rice left. I am also back to giving her bottled water. I am going to do this for a few days and look for a small bag of Natural Balance Organic to try on Bailey. I hope she feels better soon; I had another terrible mess to clean up tonight... oh well, were going to replace the carpet in the spring with tile anyways. I just hope it holds up to all the steam cleaning I am doing. Michele & Bailey |

| I took her to the vet's again today and Bailey has a bacterial infection. So I have her on 3 different meds. I need to keep her on the white rice and chicken with a bit of cottage cheese for another 3-5 days, then she wants me to start reintroducing her kibble. I'll see how she does and then decide what to do. The vet I go to is a big fan of Royal Canin that is all they carry. She says it is one of the best foods on the market. We will see...... |

| I need advice on Dog Food Hello! A few weeks ago I posted about changing Bailey's food because all of a sudden Royal Canin is disagreeing with her. I have had her on white chicken & white rice for the past couple of weeks, she was not feeling well so this is per her vets instructions also. I have tried giving her small amounts of Kibble and she gets diarhea all over again. I have found that cottage cheese and plain yogurt do also. So I am figuring out she CANNOT tolerate dairy, and whatever is in the Royal Canin. That is so strange though she was on Royal Canin since she was 10weeks. She is doing pretty well on the chicken and rice, even gained back the little bit she lost. The vet said we can keep her on that for a while and just start giving her supplements... What dry food is out there that is pretty basic, no fillers, not too rich. Or is there a site where I can find recipes to make her food? Thank you, Michele & Bailey |

| i had the same problem with baci. The royal canine became to rich of a dog food for him and gave him diareea. After $400 of tests and everything coming back negative, i changed his food to nutro for sensitive stomachs and havent had a problem since. Hope this helps!

Nutro? Thanks I will buy some tommorow. I wish they had smaller bags to try, I know most places take food back but I hate to do that. Michele & Bailey | |

| My pups get dry Iams with a little bit of the Iams in a pouch mixed in. They both love it. With all the talk of fat and protein on here I went and looked at the packaging, but don't know enough to know whether it's good or bad. But they both eat well and seem to have consistent BMs, and not too many. I hope Bailey starts feeling better soon.

| Thank you, I am getting alot of use from my steam cleaner lately She does fine on the strict diet I have her on, just not sure what else she can't tolerate now. Weird?! So now I am not sure if she got sick because of her food or picked up a bug and is now intolerate of certain foods? I have never really given her anything but her dry kibble so this is going to be a bit of trial and error now. Thanks for the well wishes! Michele & Bailey |
