| Ear Problem... Hello, I'm new. I got on here for my mom, she just got her first Yorkie about a week ago. Yesterday we noticed that the Yorkies left ear flopped over and won't stand back up. Does anyone know why it would do this or how we can fix it? Thanks bunches, love to all. |

| Have the ear tips been shaved? Is it a puppy? Generally the tips of yorkies ears are shaved which takes the weight off them and helps them to stand up. If the ear was up and is now down it will probably pop up again soon. Sometimes they go down for a few days when the puppy is teething also. Some people tape the ears up for a while until they stand on their own. You could find lots of info about taping yorkie ears if you do a search. I wouldn't worry about it. I never taped either of my yorkies ears. They just popped up when they were ready.

| She is about 10 weeks, I think. We haven't clipped the hair ontop of her ears yet, but we will get right on that. Thanks for the info. Much love |

| Until the ears get strong, I always shave them half way and tape them together. You flatten them out and use masking tape to tape them together so they stick straight up. It only takes a few days usuall. If it falls again, do it for longer. The masking tape won't hurt them if they chew on it.
