How Much Protein! My grandmother has a Yorkie that for a while has had loose to runny stool off and on. She refuses to listen to anything that I suggest. i have suggested trying the food I use. Nutro Natural Chicken, Rice, oatmeal for sensitive stomachs. She went to her vet and she told her to use Eukanuba. The one thing that I don't like is that it is really high in protein. She won't listen to anything I suggest. I have told her to keep Nutrical or karo in the house and that IF her dog ever gets stopped up that a little pumpkin will help. She actually asked the front desk/cashier at the vets office about karo. This lady said to NEVER EVER give a dog karo. Soooo needless to say my grandmother won't have any part of it. I just don't understand it. I have tried my best to pass along little tidbits that I have learned from everyone. I won't being trying to help anymore tho. So for future reference for myself how much protein is just too much and is Nutro ok to use?? Michelle

I wonder What was their reasoning for not giving the karo?

They told her that is will rot the dogs teeth out and it can cause stomach problems. My things is as little as she would ever have to use it and as much as she has his teeth cleaned that wouldn't be a problem. I am still not too sure about her vet. Michelle

I wanted to add that I also told her that when Diesel was a baby that I kept a little karo in his water just as a precaution. He is smaller and healthy and more well rounded than her dog. So it obvious didn't hurt him. Michelle
