| I need to fatten up my doggie! I just adopted (from people who couldn't care for her any longer) a darling little yorkie girl. She is beautiful, but at nine MONTHS, weighs less than two lbs. She is fine-boned and small-framed, but still, she NEEDS to put on more weight. When you pet her, it just feels like you're petting hair and bones. She doesn't seem too interested in the dry food they were previously feeding her, but she is LOVING the babyfood chicken! What are some other fattening/nutrient packed foods I can tempt her with? How about a puppy milk supplement? Would that help with anything?

| Nutrical or Nutristat is considered a high calorie supplement. |

| At 9 months I would nolt give her milk supplement. I might give her diahrea. I would try cottage cheese and cooked chicken. Eggs are good too, Also some canned foods for Puppies. Mine love the Cesars. There has been a lot posted about it, but I can't believe it is that bad. You still need to feed dry food for their teeth. Leave dry food out all the time, mine prefer the Royal Canine. and fgive the soft food morning and night. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would try feeding her more often and give her healthy foods like a premium wet food or chicken/ Do you have pics of her. She sound sotiny and cute. I'm glad she has you to take care of her now

| If you are feeding her a healthy diet she may just gain weight without having to add much. When I got Titan at 9 months old he was really skinny. The girl I got him from was feeding him cheap dry puppy food. I considered trying to fatten him up with suppliments. Instead, I just switched him over to Nutro Lamb and Rice dry and some boiled chicken in the evening (this is what my other dogs eat) and he now feels muscular and lean but not bony like before.

| Thanks for the advice, and I do need to take some pictures now, as she is looking sooooo much better! We just spent the evening trimming her coat, and her claws. (she hadn't been groomed since birth) She's a REAL little sweetie, with a precious face, and such a happy and loving little personality. And of course, she and my puppy are having a blast romping and wrestling! My husband and I can't figure out where she gets all her energy, as skinny as she is! But she sure has it!

| Try a premium kibble, like Nutro and wet it with warm water. Nutro also do a canned wet food. A little chicken, hamburger, cheese, cottage cheese and a tiny amount of cooked Liver might help. Give Nutrical/stat each day too. Pet milk might be ok-not puppy supplement.Good luck. As long as what goes in is the best, she will do well.

| My Gypsy was quite thin and run down when I got her (she'd had a c-section and then when the puppies were weaned she was spayed just before I got her). She was being fed regular Innova kibble and so the man at the pet food store suggested that I try her on Innova EVO because it's a higher protein and calorie food. She just loved it and she gained almost a full pound in about 2 months, now she looks just great. Good quality food should put the weight on her as long as she is basically healthy otherwise. Oh, and I agree, we need pictures!!!!

| Well, IF you insist! Here are some pictures of our new girl. The one of her meeting our puppy for the first time is deceiving...her thick matted hair made her look bigger than she was. In reality, at nine MONTHS, she weighed LESS than our nine WEEK old puppy! Grant you, the puppy is a little chunk , while she is always going to be a tiny girl....but she was so bony that my son sd., "Mom, when you pet her, it's just HARD...there isn't any cushion!" THE GOOD NEWS IS....she has seemed very happy in her new life with us, and is putting weight on already. YAY! I think I'll be able to get her up above three lbs, anyway! The other pics are from her first night with us....I need to take some "after" pics, soon! She is such a sweet and pretty little girl!
