| Fast Before Blood Test I am brining my puppy in for a blood test this morning to make sure he is OK to start on heartworm meds. I forgot to ask the vet if he has to fast before going in? His appointment is for 11 am and the vet isn't opened yet so I wanted to see if anyone can help me out here before I feed him his breakfast. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | No if it is just for heart worm they do not need to fast. The only test I had to have Cali fast for was her Bile Acid test to test for Liver shunt. Good luck!

| Thanks for the quick reply. He is crying right now because he is hungry, so I am glad I can feed him. |

| And for future reference - if you're ever unsure about fasting --- just fast. This won't hurt your pup and you're covered if it was necessary. Carol Jean |
