| High BUN Hi all. We have a 10 month old male Yorkie that my husband, 3 kids and I absolutely adore!. We had him neutered 4 months ago and were told his BUN level was high- about 37 when normal is 27. The Vet recommended having it re-checked after awhile. Well, we had it re-checked yesterday and it is in the 50's. His creatinine level (another kidney test) is normal. We have him scheduled to have his urine checked this Friday, so of course we will be finding out more from the vet. In the mean time, I am worried sick! Does anyone have any experience with this or have any ideas what might be going on? You would never, ever know anything was wrong with him if it wasn't for this blood test that was done just because he was getting neutered. No urinating frequently, no inability to hold his urine, no excessive drinking, and he has plenty of energy and eats normally. Thanks for your input. Colby-Jack's mom |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When Cali was recently sick they did blood work and her Bun was 30 which they called mildly high. They weren't too concerned about it since her creatine was normal. Hopefully someone will have more information on this for you. Good luck.
