| Feeding raw beef and pork We have decided to try Sophie on raw again after pulling her off of it two years ago but I have some questions and hoping to get some help! She is starting to gain weight and we found on raw, she stayed in better shape. We have a fairly local company that we are planning to use and they have sample taster packs and we are interested in ordering one but we are trying to avoid the addition of veggies and fruit to begin with as her belly has trouble with them sometimes. So we were rather do the switch to raw and then slowly test out veggies and fruits. The problem is I don't remember where I read it but I read the first time around that beef is bad to feed to small dogs and to avoid it and they also have pork included in the pack. I have read that raw pork can be dangerous and to freeze it for 3 weeks to kill any potential of that worms. Is this true? If we were to feed her raw pork after letting it free for a month or so, does that make it safe? I have an email to the company but haven't heard back yet. I am just trying to figure out this beef and pork stuff. So, has anyone fed their baby raw beef/pork and been okay with it? Here is the company if you want to look into it: Big Country Raw | Food For Dogs |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I would not feed raw. I do not trust raw meat and if my dog got sick and died I would not get over it. Really check it out before you do. My friend had mastiff and they ate rae. But little dogs it's not a wise move. Min eat wellness and have beautiful coats |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I've fed raw (frozen raw by Primal or NV) for about 8 yrs now and love it. Raw beef would be fine. For the pork, I'd especially want to know the fat content as pork can be so high in fat. It may be easier to just by the pre-made raw by Primal or NV...is that an option...?

| My Maltese boy eats Stella & Chewys raw. I hydrate the paddies before feeding but my Zoey eats rx food. She loved raw but pancreatatis stopped that.

I love Primal and NV and it's super easy to feed. I dethaw about 5 days worth, then store that in tupperware in the fridge and feed from that for my kiddos.

| Raw food is a necessity in a dog's diet but be careful not to overfeed. I personally prefer eukanuba for dogs with sensitive stomach. My ret often has allergic reactions towards some dog foods and it was really a trouble finding the dry food that he likes and at the same time good for him. He's such a picky eater and the type of dog that would just sniff the food and leave it. Though I occasionally add some wet tasty food on his food, the kibble itself is tasty enough. I constantly search for useful information about dog food allergies. Everything's going smooth now. |

| A raw diet is great, and pork and beef are both safe as far as I know. I'm much better versed in ferrets than dogs, as my ferts eat raw and I feed kibble to the pups.

Raw | Nature's Variety We bought the BCR stuff but the bones chunks are too big for her to deal with. If this is the food, can I ask you a few questions about it? Thanks! We have her back on her kibble because my gut told me the bones were too big for her and sure enough the company recommends double grinding them for under 10lbs so we are considering other foods for the time being. Rather her be safe than sorry! | |

"Montmorillonite clay is used in some natural pet foods as a natural anti-caking agent. It allows high-quality pet foods to remain free of man-made and chemical agents for this purpose. In addition, it is a natural source of minerals so it may bring with it added health benefits to pets. Since montmorillonite clay comes from the earth, some customers have asked about contamination by dioxin. Nature’s Logic® purchases its clay from a supplier whose product has been tested and shown to contain no dioxin."

| I just started feeding the Orijen freeze dried raw paddies and Cali is crazy about it. Doesn't wok when we travel si u have to use the kibbles then. I was drawn to it for the high meat content and no corn.
