| Puppy prefers adult food...what are the consequences? At 5 months old, Pixie wants nothing to do with her puppy food. She only wants to eat my adult dogs food. I've tried feeding them in separate rooms but my adults are used to eating whenever they want during the day & Pixie is a "picker"- she will eat one piece of food at a time at various times. This has made keeping a feeding schedule very difficult. I've tried putting a tiny amount of wet food mixed in to entice her, but she will just pick those out & leave the dry. When I serve the dry by itself, she sniffs & walks away. What are the consequences of a puppy her age eating adult formula food? Does anyone have any ideas that might help? Thanks!!! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would just give her the food she prefers then. At 6 mths, yorkies are basically considered full grown - so you're only 1 mth out at this point. I wouldn't sweat it too much at this point.

| My boys get All Life Stages food. I tried the puppy food with Blazer and he only wanted what Buddy had so I gave in and he's been eating well ever since.
