| I really appreciate this article. Maybe because I was a speciality nurse, practicing in a speciality unit with specialists in the fields of cardiovascular/thoracic/transplant medicine, I have never hesitated to jump to a specialist. I have always thought "why spend money pitzing around, trying this, trying that, looking here, no maybe there, no maybe.....". By the time you waste all that time, guessing or supposing or trying different ideas, you could have taken that money and spent it much more productively, and more than likely saved precious time and energy and perhaps the life of your pup. I do not hesitate to scurry off to A&M with sick animals.....fortunately, that was a trail I have not had to utilize with my dogs as they have all been healthy and not required medical care above and beyond what my vet or the vets at Gulf Coast could manage quite efficiently....but when we had horses, stallions especially, they were always getting into major issues and I had a trail burned into the road to A&M! I have never been one to patiently "wait and see what shows up" or "how this or that works out"....I want to see results of some kind, quickly. When you are dealing with some of the issues we deal with involving these little dogs, they just dont have the reserve to burn, while we pitz around, trying everything listed in alphabetical order in the index of a vet med book! Cut to the chase!!! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 08-21-2015 at 11:49 AM. |

| We are very fortunate indeed....just look at the extensive, highly qualified, respected medical services we have available here in Houston, with the Medical Center for humans and then the specialty vets and GCVH available to us right here in Houston.....we are indeed fortunate! |

| I've become so spoiled with specialty care. I haven't found a general vet I love -- although I liked them all -- and soon will be having my youngest dog with a new one.

| GCVS rocks! Several days ago, there was a topic trending on facebook. Someone on a Westjet flight had taken a video of the flight attendant's safety instructions (funny). The person that took it said that she was on a flight home from a TPLO conference. I surfed on over to her veterinary practice's fb page, and saw that the practice was in Saskatchewan. Scrolled down and saw a selfie she had posted of herself and Dr. Beall! Their influence reaches far and wide!
