| The IMPORTANCE of dental cleaning... I have learned NOT to delay or go by my judgement. Turbo lost 3 teeth. I thought his teeth looked good, I brushed it every night. It was his 1st dental cleaning under anesthesia & I waited too long, he's 5 years old. He lost 2 very back small molars on the top & 1 small incisor (right b4 his big canine tooth) on the top left. Poor Momo lost another tooth. Good thing he went in again this year, he had lost 3 teeth last year (small way back molars & top & bottom). He lost the same small incisor that Turbo lost. I need to pay more attention when brushing their teeth, make sure I get to all of them, even the small ones. Poor buddies needs to take the yucky clindacure (ZydaClin) antibiotic. They hate it, Momo fights me like I'm poisoning him. They shake their head in disgust after I squirt it in their mouth. They get a yummy treat of greek yogurt afterwards. PLEASE do not delay or put off dental cleaning, it is VERY important for their well being & health.

| Dental last thursday... My murphy is nearly seven years old and he had his second dental last week, sadly he needed to have his 6 tiny bottom front teeth in between the big canine ones removed, the vet put in 10 stitches, its been a week today and his little mouth still bleeds now and again....I brush his teeth everyday, and only noticed the 1 tiny tooth raised abit up from the gum, but apparently the other 5 were bad too. I was told yorkies loose teeth fast, and my murphy was lucky to be nearly 7 and had these teeth caught which were bad....sad it happens to them

| My poor Rocky has always had the prettiest teeth! I have always brushed them since he was a puppy and he's now 5. When he was at the vet last year I asked if they reccomended a dental cleaning yet and they said his teeth looked great! But over the winter his breath no matter what I did smelled awful so he had his first cleaning. He did great except they had to take 4 teeth!!

| When my parents got Sammy he was 6 years old and one of the first things we did one him was a dental and he had to have 6 or 8 teeth pulled. Callie luckily just prefers to break her own and have them then pulled . Callie didn't need a dental until she was 5 and the only reason she needed that was because she broke a tooth and the vet dentist said she still had very little tarter and that a special light had to be used to see it. I guess a lot has to do with genetics.

| Poor Turbo and Momo! I'm sorry they lost teeth, but glad it wasn't any more than what they did lose. Max and Teddy will be having their first dentals soon. I'm nervous!!

| Oh boy, looks like a lot of pups lost their teeth very young! They don't necessarily need those way back small molars or smaller teeth but don't like that there was tooth decay & bacteria, even w/me brushing their teeth every night. I'm going to incorporate teeth wipes 2-3 x's a week & research/shop around for a safe chew. Keep brushing your fur butts' teeth!

| Tibbe gets his check-ups twice yearly and his teeth cleaned yearly or sooner if the vet says he needs it. I'm not competent to assess his dental health so I leave that to the vet. Since his first cleaning when I first got him, he hasn't lost any more teeth but I brush his teeth almost daily and he gets his check-ups. I check his mouth often for evidence of anything like dark spots on his teeth, swelling or redness or irritation of his gums just in case I spot anything strange looking. I go by his breath also, which smells bad close to time for his professional cleanings but if it starts smelling very bad, I take him in for a check-up, just in case something is going on. Thanks for the reminder! Got to go brush his teeth right now. And I'm sorry for the missing teeth - he'll do fine once he's over the extraction pain.
