| I have no advice about the short hair but wanted to say Happy New Year Villette. You are missed here, and I'm happy to hear you and the girls are doing well.

| Oatmeal shampoo sometimes has adverse effects on some pups. Not all fish oil is yucky. My boys love the one from Animal Essentials and it has the best/highest combo of Omega 3s. I break open the little gel capsules and put it on their kibble. We need to order more of it. A tiny bit of organic coconut oil is an alternative. Don't go overboard with it or will cause diarrhea. You can also try this leave-in conditioner that is popular with exhibitors: Vellus Satin Cream (for Hair and Skin) - 4oz/118ml jar A little goes a long way. Love this stuff and I need to order more.

| I had this exact same problem with my Abby. I started using coconut oil just on her head and it has helped. Also, we have not put a topknot in her hair and won't until it grows out enough to do so. I suspect that's what broke her hair in the first place as she hates the hair being up. |

| I was thinking coconut oil myself. I have thyroid issues and having problems with my hair. I was told to use coconut oil so why not for a yorkie lol. Also what PEK conditioner from IVSB? I think it is wonderful!

| V - it's good to see you posting. I am sure others can supply better answers about products to use on your friend's yorkie, but I have a couple of ideas..... 1) If she scratches or rubs her head she could be breaking the her head hair. 2) Knotless Hair Wrap (KTW Wraps LLC) may be a better product to use than bands. |

| What's up Vi? Happy New Year! Shelby & Seymour started having a few topknot issues after we got Seeger... his favorite place to grab when playing... grrrrr I am thinking either the band or scratching.... have you checked her ears? I clean Seegers ears more often than the other 2.... He seems to get wax build up quicker. Hope you find a solution!!! good to see ya!

| Hi V! Oh what a cute munchkin! I have one that has allergies (enviro seasonal) & yeast, so she has a lot of itchies. She's also very allergic to flea saliva, she breaks out in red angry hives! Her hair is very fine & breaks easily. When she's suffering from allergies, she'll leave clumps of hair on my bed. All I can do (besides meds which we stopped bc it's basically steroids) is give her a bath 2 x's a week when pollen count is high in a natural coconut based shampoo, I use espree. Coconut is so wonderful, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, it's amazing stuff! I apply the oil on her rash & it's gone the next day. It can simply be genetics too.

| Top knot dressing I'm really impressed with this product. It so beautifully conditions even the stray hairs around the topknot that seem to get in the way and the rubber band slides right off when you go to pull it off. Just rub some inbetween fingers and form the topknot all the way to the ends smoothing down fly hairs around it. I love it . But you get such a big tub , it will last me forever, cause a little goes a long way. It's called Show Dog by espree, Freeze styling gel for show dogs.but it's not stiff, hair will feel soft and conditioned . Controls frizzy fly away hair too with no build up. Rub a little on hands when done brushing and "flatten" down hair on back and sides. |

| I used the Vellus Cream only on the topknots, but it can be used anywhere on the body too.
