Donating YT 500 Club Member | Boney lump between ribs Can someone advise please? I have noticed a little bony lump on Alfie's chest, just about where the ribs start to split and right in the middle. I have tried looking at yorkie skeleton diagrammes but can't find a really detailed one of that area. Is this normal and if not does anyone know what it could be? Alfie is nearly ten months, 6.5lbs and lightly built. This doesn't seem to bother him at all and we are off to our doggy dermatologist next Thursday, but just thought I would see if anyone here had any ideas?

| I'm rather new to this Yorkie thing but have not heard of this before but I always error on the side of caution and would recommend your Vet take a look. Good luck and I pray this isn't anything serious. Blessings!

| Dogs have a floating rib.. This might be what you are feeling. I would have the Vet check it out to make sure!!

| I'm one of those that if I'm worried about something with my baby, I'm going to have it checked by my vet just to make sure everything's okay. Hopefully, it's nothing. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Thanks everybody, I am pretty sure that it is a floating rib, I am at the vets on Thursday so will get her to check it out. It isn't bothering him at all so won't make an emergency app. I will update on Thursday.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Update on wee boney lump So, turns out it is just the end of his sternum is a little pointy, the doggy dermatologist is happy with his progress. He has been weaned off the steroids for quite a few weeks now and his antihistamines seem to be controlling his allergies. We are going to start introducing foods on top of his prescription Anallergenic RC, so starting with a few green beans for treats this week.
