| It's so sad that such dangerous things are out there for our pets to consume... Why are they not regulated more harshly? Pets are dying and the treats are still on the shelves

| As long as the companies keep making money they will keep selling these products. Purina will not put their name on Waggin Train or Canyon Creek treats so most people have no idea they are the makers of this killer product. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...522_o.jpg?dl=1 Stores will keep selling them as long as they make money, too! https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...282_o.jpg?dl=1

| Actually, you should also beware of treats made with chicken outside of theUnited States. I have read several alerts about the jerky and the chicken. Ialways try to research where the dog food or treats are processed. I prefer notto buy any food items for my dogs outside of the United States, because youjust do not know what you might be getting, such as poison, pesticides in food, contaminated food, etc. I do not think the food is regulated very well outsideof the country. Actually, I am scared every time I give my dog food that iscanned or dry commercial dog food, because I just do not trust food companieslike I used to anymore, including dog food from the United States. Did you hearthe recent news about rice for humans and animals possibly contaminated witharsenic from use of pesticides when the rice is grown? |

| I have noticed in the last few months that many companies are not marking on their products where the item is made. They list the point of distribution as being some where in the US but do not state where it was made. It must be another way of trying to dupe the American public. We found out several years ago that American companies import fillers for pet foods and treats from China so being marked as made in USA is not even enough to be able to feel the product is safe. Also many American companies have been purchased by China and yet retain their original company name. |

| BULLY sticks recall and Target Brand Chicken Jerky, is it ok? I was going to post and ask what everyone thinks about the Boots & Barkley (Target) brand of chicken jerky. It clearly states it is made in USA. I believe the China problem is in the meat itself, not so much in the processing. Isn't it possible the problem comes from what they feed the chickens in China? Anyway, is there a way to find out where the chicken used in Boots and Barkley comes from? I did a quick google to see if I could find the info when I ran across this RECALL ON BULLY STICKS that everyone might not have heard about. Boots & Barkley dog treats sold at Target recalled after positive tests for salmonella - HealthPop - CBS News For now i am making homemade chicken jerky in a $35 dehydrator from Amazon. I don't add any flavors or spices so there is no "recipe". Why bother getting her used to seasonings if she LOVES it plain? I find it hard to slice it thin enough and pounding it is a pain so I would love a safe alternative for times when I've run out and not gotten a chance to make more. She loves it so much that we give her some almost every day. |

As far as the quality of the chicken goes.....I guess it could be worse than American chicken that is pumped full of steroids, hormones and antibiotics. Who knows what they feed chickens in China?? I wanted to buy chicken breast this week but when I went to the store all they had were chicken breasts the size of turkeys. I couldn't bring myself to buy it. | |

| FYI- Just because a product says "Made in the US" does not mean it is safe. They product could be made in the US but sourced from anywhere including China. Since Zoey got sick and passed I spend a small fortune to find and only purchase locally and avoid as much as possible stores that sell these deadly treats. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...044_o.jpg?dl=1 Mine now eat only homemade treats made with my own hands and dehydrated by me. The chicken, beef, buffalo, etc. is raised locally. spearlstein- Welcome to the Group! I know about the rice and arsenic. Neither myself or the furbutts are consuming rice now- Before the warning I only at it a few times a week. Their kibble contains no rice either. Thanks for looking out! I posted about it on a few other threads.

| Is Costco still selling these? I used to buy them there and broke them into small pieces for treats, but stopped when I heard all the bad reports.

| Costco's website does not show them. I don't have one near me so I have no idea.
