| question/slight concern.... Hi. I am new to the forums and this is my first post. I got my Yorkie almost 3 months ago from a pet store here. He is almost 7 months old now. From when we got him he had a cough so we took him to the vet and he gave us medicine. The cough i only really hear is when he drinks water. So eventually we took him to get neutered and the vet said since he still had some congestion to wait till hes 100% healthy. we been giving him his medicine and he still gives about 2 -3 coughs after drinking but thats all. He seems otherwise perfectly healthy. anyone else have this problem or know what this could be? |

| I wish I could help, but the only suggestion I have is talk to another vet. Cough can be serious even if it is only a little coughing...

| When i first got Teddy he had kennel cough. We gave him the proper treatment but he still had a cough for a while after that so i took him again and they said it was just like "left over" congestion from when he was sick and that it should go away on its own. Eventually he got better so i dont think u should worry that much about it. |

| collapsing trachea often causes coughing after drinking water. My Edie has a mild case, I think, and she sometimes coughs after drinking. |
