| Teeth I wanted to get Thor fixed he is 7 months but he has not lost any of his baby teeth. At what age are they usually done teething? I was hoping to do everything at once. He has the bottom two canines but the baby ones did not fall out. The vet will only charge 13.00 per tooth if done at the time of neutering.

| I think by 8-12 months most are done teething. Yorkies are prone to retaining baby teeth, so if the adult teeth are in, then any extras need to be pulled.

| Definitely wait if you can. I got Riley neutered at 6 months and then ended up having to take him back 3 months later because his 2 upper canines didnt' fall out... They charged me another almot $400 for their removal and he had to go under, again. I was a little upset. |

| The vet was nice enough to tell me it would be another 350.00 if it was done separately she is very nice and gave me the heads up. I just wanted to do it before he starts marking.... He has not started yet so I will continue to wait to see what happens with his teeth.

| I had Teddy neutered at 7 months old and the vet removed his baby teeth at that time. I personally would not wait and I believe in having my pets altered early.

| More than likely if those canines have not come out by the age of 7 months, they are not going to come out. Those teeth are notorious for this issue. Personally, I would not wait beyond 6 or 7 months.

| I had Cesar done at 7 months. He also had the issue of baby canines that did not fall out after the adult teeth had come in. I also paid the $13 to get them removed. I would get it done, the older they get the longer it takes to recover. |

When I went to drop him off for his teeth, I let it be known to the tech that I wasn't happy.....I didn't even really care about the money part of it........ I was mainly upset because I didn't want Riley to have to go under "again".... and be in any discomfort. The tech confirmed that they usually pull any baby teeth that are left at the time of neuter and that this was an unusual circumstance. All in all he came through it fine. | |
