| multivitamin or not? My dog eats "Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul" and I've been wondering for a while whether or not i should start her on some multivitamin. It seems to be a pretty balanced dry food. I was wondering.......how many people here in YT feed their dogs Chicken soup or other high quality food and also use supplements? Thanks! |

| If the food you are feeding is complete and balanced (should indicate on the packaging), a multivitamin is not necessary. The additional vitamins would be excreted. There are instances where a human can get too much of a mineral (thyroid patients, for example). So I imagine the same would be true of animals. Unless you and your vet determines a specific need for a supplement, I wouldn't give any.
