| Chunky Monkey! Hey, so I have a 21 week old yorkie named Levi. He is currently a bit over 7lbs. I am switching his food to something a bit better quality. Today I picked up Orijen Puppy which seems to be a good food. My question is, how much should he be eating? He is growing a lot, and is a complete piggy so I cannot free feed him by any means. Any suggestions? Are any of your pups eating the Orijens? How are they doing on it? Thanks! |

| My Jackson is 1.5yrs old and eating Acana Grasslands and Orijen Regional Red (both made by Champion Pet Food). I feel they are one of the, if not THE best dog foods on the market, and if your little one does great on it, that is awesome! Every dog is different so it's all a bit of trial/error to see what works best for you and your dog For reference, Jackson is around 15lbs and eats 1/2 cup total of food a day. 1/4 cup in the AM and 1/4 cup in the PM. He gets quite a bit of treats though (usually Zuke's) during the day. I think puppies need more food though in general as they are growing! The side of the bag often overestimates the amount of food to feed but you can use that as a general guideline. Also, remember with a higher quality food, you will often be feeding less!
