| Help!! My 1 1/2 yo yorkie was spayed on June 2. 2 weeks later, she was vomiting, had diarrhea, and a horrible rash. Rushed her to the vet, they said allergies and sent home tummy meds and antihistamine. July 4th ( 14 days later) rash returns, vomiting worse, and more diarrhea. Keep in mind, she was a healthy dog, never had allergies before the spay. Also, before the vet would spay, she insisted Kiki must have influenza vaccination. All her other shots were current. She went again and vet keeps saying allergies. Her rash does not itch and she does not appear to be in pain from touch. No one seems to have ever seen this. We just picked her up on Monday, and she still looks horrible. Help...anyone??? Has anyone ever went through this? Her skin looks like a severe sunburn. |

| Oh, poor baby; that looks very uncomfortable. I think it might be second opinion time.

| Welcome to YT. I'm sorry it is under these circumstances. I agree with Ringo that it might be time for a second opinion from another vet. It could be a reaction to the influenza vaccine, maybe. |

| Oh poor baby, that is bound to be painful. I would be on the road to a new vet. I know I have a little 13yr. old schnauzer that had Wellingbrand disease. You would not believe the vets we talked too that really did not know what to do. I thought we were going to lose her. That was about 12yrs. ago and thankfully we found one that saved her life. There is bound to be one out there that can help you and get her back on track. Hope she gets better real soon. |

| Thank you everyone. 2 vets looked at her today and are stumped. She has no symptoms but the rash. No itching, no pain to touch, just hot to the touch, but no fever. We are taking her off the Prednisone and putting her back on the antihistamines. The first time this happened 2 weeks ago, that cleared it up until this breakout. We will go from there, and if we see no improvement, we will biopsy in a week and send to UGA for research. Thanks everyone for your kind words and comments. She is a sweet girl and I really hate to see her go through this. |

| I looked closely at the photo you posted. I have seen this before and is definitely an allergic reaction. I would keep her on the antihistimine until this clears up. Praying this clears up quickly and your little one is her happy self once again. This type of reaction is very uncomfortable. It will take awhile to clear up. |

| I have my baby back!! Woke up this morning and our sweet girl Kiki is completely cleared up!!! The stronger antihistamines the "second opinion" vet gave us worked in 3 days!! And he did not even charge us for the office visit. Said he had never seen anything like this. I will call him Monday and I guess if we see this start again, we will immediately begin the antihistamines again. We are also building a concrete outdoor yard for our yorkie babies. We live in the mountains and we feel when we walk her, she is coming in contact with what ever is causing this. Thanks for all of your sweet comments. I am so relieved Kiki is feeling better!! |

| I'm so happy Kiki is feeling better. Maybe I'm way off, but why did your vet insist on the influenza vac. before the spay? Is it the same as Bordatella? Hugs to your baby.
