| Just in case someone missed it in the other thread. Found out today that Sadie has LP. We aren't sure what grade/level yet, but we know it's prob. a 1 or 2. She can stand on the leg sometimes and puts a lot of weight on it since she first started limping on Wed. but she's not there yet. Should she improve to the point of walking again, we will just be thankful God spared her, but in case of no improvements we will need LP surgery on one leg which runs about 1300. We did go to a different vet today and yes it was cheaper than banfield because anything off the "wellness plan" is sooo over priced. We loved the vet at Shoal Creek. very thourough and wonderful from DH's opinion (he took her in) anyways. we are going to wait and see if she does walk on it in a couple weeks and go from there. Pray that she gets better without needing surgery for this. |

| If it is indeed LP, you can always supplement with glucosamine, I use Cosequin. Cosequin Regular Strength (90 capsules) Uni was diagnosed with grade 3 last summer and had only lifting that one time after jumping in the waves at the beach. She does well on cosequin, and I don't ever plan on having surgery on her. I would really look at surgery as a last result, many yorkies have done well on supplements. Understand that this does not FIX the problem, but it can help. Also I see you estimate the grade at 1 or 2, you really shouldnt' consider surgery for grades 1 or 2, even grade 3 is debatable and depends on each particular case.

| thanks...i'm not sure what grade she really is. i need to see if the vet called dh back to tell him her thoughts. i'm sure it's not that high or she would have pushed for the surgery more...she was the one that said just let it ride and see if we see more improvements in the future. i will start on those supplements soon though. i bet Aunt Karrie and i can both use them well for our girlies. |

| Rachel, why don't you call the vet tomorrow yourself and ask what grade they are? I'm sure it is noted in Sadie's chart. I'm sure half of what the vet said went right over your husband's head. I bet your husband was so glad to hear her leg wasn't broken, he forgot the rest! |

| Good luck Sadie! We just found out Maggie May has between a 2 and 3 in one knee and the other is loose as well. Hot Rod has been on Dasuquin so I've started Maggie on it as well. The vet is going to explore more as they have dentals on Friday and will be sedated. She is recommending see an ortho surgeon for consult. Not sure what we're going to do just yet as Maggie does not seem to be in any pain at all.

| I'm sorry to hear Sadie has LP and has been limping. To me LP is so confusing. In comparison, Kaji was diagnosed with grade 3/4 in both knees by two different vets (I made sure neither knew of the other so I can get a straight answer). He walks just fine and never complains. In 8 months I haven't seen him favor either leg yet. I'm quite baffled. I hope Sadie gets better.
