| Raw food question My yorkie is on primal raw duck no kibble. We think she is allergic to chicken. She is 5 pounds. I feed her 3 duck medallions a day (primal feeding regimin says 2 medallions) she also gets treats and fruits and veges. My question is she still seems hungry and my groomer yesterday said she seemed really thin since the last grooming. My dog eats like a pig. She was surprised by this. So I was thinking of either adding kibble or canned or taking her off primal. Not sure was thinking about natural balance duck/potato any thoughts?? By the way she still scratches and itches on duck and everything else she's eating I just notice chicken made her itch more. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | That does sound like a lot of food, has she had a vet check recently? My vet was able to give me a range of healthy weight for Joey. I believe that each of us has a weight that's healthiest for us, and some are thinner than others naturally. How often does she scratch herself? I wonder if she could have a tapeworm?

| She has always itched and scratched I can't remember a time when she hasn't. She gets regular vet visits. He was not concerned with her weight. He doesn't believe in feeding raw so it's hard talking to him about feeding. I am looking at getting a new vet. As far as a tapeworm she has always had a healthy appetite never a picky eater. She never scooches on her butt or itches her butt area. It's mostly armpits, legs and face. I didn't think 3 medallions were a lot if she is not getting kibble. |

| Funny you should bring this up, as I, recently had to up Apple's food (she's on all raw), because she seemed so thin...The recommendations say two medallions a day, for her weight...I like her at 5 lbs...Well, she got down to 4 lbs. 11 oz. on two medallions...Because she was thin, I started giving her 3 a day, and now she's just right;exactly 5 lbs...So, you can't always go by what they say on the pkg... |
