Unusual Sounds??? Ace, 3 months old, makes sounds as if he's drinking/ swallowing something. It sounds as if he's havinh a hiccup or something, but I'm not sure...I watch him closely and observe him when he makes the sound. Additionally, I look in his mouth to see if I can find anything. He doesn't seem to be in any pain. Any suggestions, comments? Help please.

maybe if it sound like a hicup it probably is, or it could be drainage. (I hate to sound gross) like if you had drainage and you swallowed your snot (ew, lol) is the baby's nose extra wet and cold. He could just have some snotty drainage or just the hiccups.

Thank you... His nose isn't wet (not today at least...lol), so I'll keep watch on him. He's my first pup and he's like my baby. I'm extra cautious with him

probably just a hicup then, or a burp, or an Ace sound. Castor Pollux makes a strange "brrrugh" sound when he wants something lol. Its just a Castor Pollux sound lol. When I first got Castor Pollux I was an overzelous mom. I got him on a really good health care plan and took him to the vet for EVERYTHING. My vet told me-- "with yorkies, especially spoiled ones, if theres something wrong, they'll let you know" so as long as his behavior is normal, then he just may be developing a signature sound. Or he may have the hiccups lol

lol okay thank you...I have taken him to the vet twice in the past week...but they were justified visits...one for shots and the second b/c of his flared glands...so maybe it in an "Ace sound" thanks again

Maximo is my first Yorkie, and my first puppy, and during the first few months, he made all kinds of unusual noises. Of course, I was a nervous mommy and paranoid that he was choking or that something else was wrong with him. Most of the time, I think Maximo was snorting water through his nose and doing other silly things that prompted some of the strange sounds. My newest addition, an 8 month old, still behaves like a puppy and he did the same thing the first week he was home with us. I agree with TecoyaB, don't worry unless there are other symptoms.
