| Eye stains I was wondering a good way to clean eye stains. My puppy has just started to get them along with "gunk" in her eyes as well. When I bathe her I am afraid of the shampoo getting in her eyes. Any suggestions on how I can keep her eyes clean on a daily basis? I hate seeing those stains on her eyes =( Thanks in advance, |

| Everybody has their own preference, but I use baby shampoo on the face. No worry of hurting her eyes. I use a warm, wet washcloth to clean under her eyes two or three times a day. Hope that helps.

| I use Spa facial scrub. It has a yummy scent to it, and leaves your baby with a kissable face.

| Just water will soften the clumps. Lay her on her back on your lap head towards you. Us a cotton ball fairly wet, hold it on the clump and squeeze gently(use a new cotton ball for each eye). Repeat this to wet the clump for a couple of minutes. Once soft, take your finger nails and grip the clump on both sides(this is gross I know) and slide it down off the hair. If you have a small comb, you can carefully comb out the clumps but they must be fully softened and you have to be really careful near the eye. If she is fussing just use your fingers. Repeat process until the large clumps are out. Then use a wet wipe or wet paper to wipe the hair. Dry it with a kleenex.

| Wanted to share something... If your dog has BAD eye stains, and they get smelly, check the dog's teeth. After cleaning Guliver's teeth, the stains went down significantly, and the smell as well. Just as an FYI.... |

| Or if your puppy is in the teething stage, the eye boogers can get bad. After you have softened the boogers with water, you can also use a "flea comb" to carefully remove the gunk. Just be careful not to gouge the tear duct with the comb. And as MorkieMomii indicated, be sure to dry the area with something absorbent. |

| I use contact solution on a cotton ball. I use the same kind I put on my contacts. Basuch & Laumb (sp?). I just saturate a cotton ball and rub it on there. It loosens the eye gunk and will clean the stain fairly well. |
