| Little Bailey has a Lump :( Hello YT, I hope everyone and their dog is doing well. This evening I was petting our 5.5 month old Bailey when I noticed a lump under his skin located on the right side of his body close to his right shoulder. My wife is worried sick, so I'm trying to find some comfort for her until we get him to the vet. I read some posts made here suggesting that a rabies shot could have caused the issue. Bailey had his rabies shot in the last 10 days. When I touch, or try to squeeze the lump it doesn't seem to bother him. He seems normal in terms of energy and eating/potty habits. If you can post your thoughts/experiences I would appreciate it. Thanks for reading. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome!! It sounds like it is from the rabies shot. That happened to my Pixie last year and I had never had a dog get a lump before so I took her in and the vet verified that it was from the rabies shot and would go away in a few weeks and it did. So try not to worry.

| It may very well be the rabies shot. My Belle had that happen to her but I also remember the vet telling me that it may occur so I had already expected it.

| I really appreciate the replies. Is it normal for the dog to show it bothers him if I rub it, or try to move it around? He cries if I rub, or try to squeeze it. Thanks again! |

| I agree. Sounds like a lump from the rabies shot. Some of mine react more severely than others. And, yes, it will be tender.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It could be a little sore. Also from rubbing on it may have made it a little sensitive.

| Samy also has a lump and I freaked out when I first felt it but after reading here and there realized that it is indeed from rabies - he had his rabies shot about 3 days before that. The lump is still there but will hopefully go away soon!! The vet said there is nothing to worry about.
