| losing hair Hi, My little girl has a lot of problems. She is one year old and she doesn't have very much hair. She seems to be scratching all the time,l know she doesn't have fleas. She bites and scratches herself so much, her hair is coming out on her theighs and other places. Also several times her poop is runny and the color of beets. That scares me. The vet said it was probably from the stuff inside the bones i was giving her. So, I quit , but it is still happening. She also coughs and gags a lot.Has anyone else had any of these problems? Please.Help. Pixie's Mom |

| I highly suggest taking both your babies to the Vet ASAP to get an allergy test done. it could be due to something in the food or just something in the enviroment. but whatever the reason take it to the vet and see what they say. If they say the can't figure it out, get a second opinion. Dogs come into where I work and will often times have a food allergy problem. it's rather easy to take care of, but time consuming. good luck. |

| Some of these symptoms just happened to Missy. With in 1 weeks time she was scratching a lot and her hair was noticably thinner. It turns out she got fleas from the grass in the park and she is alergic to fleas so it caused a bad skin reaction causing her hair to shed. I gave her a good bath, applied Frontline and with in a few days the itching stopped and her hair stopped shedding.

| I know how you feel I'm having a similar problem that's been ongoing for quite a while now. She started scratching and biting at her back legs until she would start to lose her hair in patches. It would progress until it looked like someone had shaved her. We took her to the vet, she didnt have fleas, mange, or mites. We have her on frontline just in case. We think we have in narrowed down to some sort of an allergy. The vet has put her on a type of steroid twice to stop with the itching. When she is on the steroid she stops scratching and her hair grows back. While she was on the steroids, I switched her food to a hypo allergenic to try and rule out food allergies. Now that shes been off the steroids for about 3 weeks, she's started scratching again. I think it's possibly a seasonal allergy or something very common. I really dont know what else to do besides get her an allergy test, but that costs around $600. Any suggestions? |

| Oh My You guys read my mind, I was geting ready to post about Tommy doing some of the same things. No runny poop or coughing, but he lost alot of his hair on his low back end near his tail looks like someone shaved him. He did have fleas from my new yard there are dogs all over here at my new house and cats too. So I took him to the vet before the fleas cause I was worried and he didn't have fleas I guess at this time, he said it could be nevers from the new move or allergies so he just gave him a allergy shot. He is still loseing hair here and there after baths and stuff so I didn't know what to do from there. Thanks for listening. Oh yeah he will be 1 on the 20th of this month

| I noticed that none of you have tried to switch the shampoo that you are using. I would truly suggest a trip to the vet for an allergy test..It would simplify things for you, as you would know the specific allergy...Good luck to all of you.
