| what to feed when they have diahhrea My 5 month old baby has had diahrrea for the past 12 hours and I'm not sure what I should try to feed her. I'm hoping that it's just a little yorkie bug and nothing serious. I'm just a little concerned because this is the first time she has had diahhrea. What do you guys suggest? |

| I learned on here to fix boiled chicken and mix it with plain white rice. My dogs LOVE it and it worked for me. Hope your baby feels better soon!!!

| Boiled white rice and chicken usually do the trick. I usually have a small jar of Gerber Strained Chicken (babys 1st foods) on hand to mix with the rice. Makes it fast and easy to serve a sick doggie. |

| Thanks for the info. Should I avoid giving her puppy food until her tummy feels better? |

| if her tummy is upset you might want to give her a bland diet, which is just broiled chicken with rice, you can even give some chicken broth, ask JessCruz it really worked for her CoCo. My kids had diarrhea, not to long ago and it was coccidia , i hope it's just a little bug and hope your baby gets better! |

| I was also told you can give pepto bismol 1cc. I have a 8 week old who just got over a stomach virus. It worked.

| When my chi had the runs my vet gave me some drops and told me not to feed her for 24 hours so her system would clear. It worked but I felt really bad. I wouldn't do this unless your vet tells you to though....

| To hydrate the dog try mixing water with a favorite soft-food. Yorkies, due to their small sizes, tend to dehydrate quickly... My vet's "safe tummy" diet is: 50% cottage cheese, and 50% white rice. Now if you added a heaping cup of no-salt chicken broth, you will have a well-fed and well hydrated puppy! |
