| Max's 1st dental cleaning... So I know this is routine but I am still nervous. I take Max into the vet tomorrow at 9am for his first dental cleaning (he just turned 4). We have had him less than a year and his previous owners did not take care of his teeth. After months of trying several things, my vet broke my heart by telling me there was too much on his teeth for me get it all off. So I am dropping my baby off there tomorrow. The receptionist said on the phone today that he may end up spending the night but not sure. Has anyone else's baby had to spend the night after a dental cleaning? I am thinking I should maybe take some before and after pictures.... yes, thats a good idea. So in the morning before we leave, I will try to get some pictures so you can see before and after pictures. Hopefully we can see a HUGE difference. Please say some puppy prayers for my lil Maxy-poo. I can't help but let bad thoughts enter my mind.

| My Max and Twinkie are both 4 and just had their dental cleaning in July. Both are a little over 3 lbs. and did really well. Neither of them had to stay overnight. Dropped them off at 8 AM and were home by 3 PM. Sending my thoughts your way. Pam |

| Dentals are very routine and everything should be fine as long as the vet knows what they are doing. That said, overnight hospitalization is not customary with dentals and I would wonder why they think it could be necessary. What kind of anesthesia are they using? If he has to stay overnight, is anyone going to be there with him?

I forgot to get pictures of his teeth with my digital camera so my cell phone had to work. Its not the best quality but you get the jist of how bad his teeth are/were!
