| 10 week old not eating and is vomiting My new Yorkie named Chewy arrived on Saturday night from North Carolina to California. We gave him some Nutri-stat and water and went to bed. He woke up middle of the night and threw up (brown) 1 big then 3 smaller times later that night. Then Sunday morning he woke up and ate 12 kibbles and drank water. We gave him some more Nurti-stat (as we were instructed to give 3 pea sizes a day). During the day he pooped twice and peed a few times. Took a nap and didn't eat anymore. At 9:30p.m. he threw up some clear bile. On Monday, he wouldn’t eat at all. It was at 2pm he ate 1 table spoon of cottage cheese 2 % milk fat small curd, drank some water and took a long nap. We took him to see the vet at 5pm. He peed and pooped at the vet's. The vet said he had a neg. parvo test, but had worm eggs-so he de-wormed him. The vet told us to give him baby food-so we did and he loved it. He slept for awhile but then he threw up a little again at night (clear bile). Then he slept the night. Tues: he woke up at 6am and threw up some foamy bile. He again ate 4 teaspoons for baby food and drank plenty of water and slept. I'm taking him to the vet today if he vomits again. Has anyone seen simliar actions as these or can give some advise on what to do? I dont want anything happending to him and it's so sad to see him not eating. |

Sorry, but I can't be of any help but, I hope that you're little guy starts to feel better soon. I agree if he does throw up again you should get him to the vet ASAP. Keep us posted. Welcome to the site as well. Glad that you are here.

| My first Yorkie experienced the same symptoms after traveling from Oklahoma to NC. (maybe it's NC that does it to them! LOL) However, after kinda making her eat for a few weeks, she started doing it on her own. I'm not sure if the traveling is what bothers them or if it's the long period of time during where they have separation anxiety...I don't know. Just give Mr. Chewy some time to get used to his surroundings & his new parents. I really think he'll start eating on his own, given some time. JM

| When my little chihuahua puppy arrived from his flight he was sooooo stressed as the transfer flight he was supposed to be one was too heavy so he had to wait for the next flight. This turned his 6 hour trip into 10 hours. Anyways, after his first poop he had the non stop runs and would not eat - the stress had flared up his coccidia like 10 times worse than it should have been so I took him to the vet and they kept him a few days (This wasn't my usual vet and I don't think this was necessary and I believe the vet ripped me off). My other chihuahua got worms as a puppy and these symptoms sound like when she got them. Not eating and vomiting bile.... worming her for a few weeks helped. I worry all the time about my little ones and I seem to take them to the vet for silly things all the time. Since you've already been to the vet I think your little one might just be stressed from the flight and it is probably just the worms. I am not an expert though so I would keep an eye on him and if he doesn't continue to get better or gets worse I would go back to the vet for sure.

| I just want to say I have never shipped a dog, but it might be from the flight, He wasn't eating much and that is why he was throwing up the bile instead of food. Hope that he is feeling better now and forever.

| Everyone thanks for your concerns. He is actually being watched around the clock, both me and my gf took today off and been taking turns watching him as the other sleeps so in case one has to be up during the night (as I have so far the last 2 nights) I think he is doing better and are expecting it to take at least a week for him to adjust to us, the time zone and environment. He has been eating very well today and been giving him water with a pinch of sugar and pea sized Nutri-stat before meals. |

| Very glad to know he is eating now. You have kept an excellent journal too, that is impressive! I am betting he is reacting to be very, very stressed because of the flight and his new invironment. Hopefully you will start to see things improve now. Congrats on your new baby and can we see some pictures?
