| Eating before being spayed Hi! We're taking our Lucy to be spayed tomorrow in the morning. Is it ok to feed her before we go? |

| We were told no food 12 hours before. Small amounts of water was okay. I wish Lucy a speedy recovery! |

| Do not feed her in the morning. I think they are allowed to have water, but I'm not sure. The reason is the meds they give them make them throw up if they have eaten recently.

| Your vet didn't give you instructions??? Here it is no food after 9PM and no water after midnight. Wow, I hope they aren't do surgeries on animals who have recently eaten. They can throw up and aspirate that way.
