| Puppy eatting dog food?? Hello there! This is my first time posting and I have a question. My 4-month old Allie has stopped eatting her food (It wasn't the healthiest thing anyway) I want to start feeding her variety of dry and wet dog food. (She LOVES wet food), but most of the stuff I am looking at is DOG food, not puppy food. Is it okay for a 4-month old to eat a mix of puppy and dog food?? |

| It all depends. I think they should stay on puppy food until at least 6 months BUT there are a lot of foods out there that are for all life stages.

| Check out this sticky in the health section of YT......http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html Each of these brands will either have a puppy food or an 'all life stages' food. Check them out. I feed Wellness Simple Food Solutions.

| We are feeding Nature's Variety Prairie chicken and rice formula (dry). It is for all life stages and all 5 of our dogs eat it and love it, including our 4 month old Yorkie pup Maggie. We switched to this food based on a recommendation from a person on Dogster that is very knowledgeable about dog foods when Maggie refused to eat her puppy food and would only eat what the other dogs were eating. It has only been a couple weeks so far, but the transition was no problem and their stools are fine. The kibble is nice and small too so the puppy has no trouble eating it. |
