My furkids Donating Member | spaying and weight gain I had both girls spayed in January. I've noticed that Sadie (the older of the two) seems to have gained some weight...not alot but, on these little bodies 1 lb is alot. Lillie seems to be "filling" out a little more too...Does this usually happen? Thanks Brenda

Thor's Human Donating Member | Thor is neutered and I still have trouble keeping weight on him. I cannot imagine how thin he would be if he hadn't been altered!

My furkids Donating Member | Thanks for the input Ladies!! My girls usually put on a little weight during the winter months. I was giving them a bath last night and noticed Sadie was getting a little "heavier". I wasn't sure if having them spayed could do this. I'm hoping once I start bringing them for walks again she will take it off..She's too small to be carrying around alot of weight.

| LOL. My aunt became a larger size after her hysterectomy decades ago. My mom opted to have her tubes tied instead and her size wasn't affected by the procedure--her weight gain happened from lack of exercise and slowed metabolism over the years. |

| Momo was 4 lbs before & 5 now...can't feel his rib cage anymore...he's a rollie pollie, bouncin around like a ball! He's always had a good appetite, now he doesn't eat as much, but has gained a whole lb & yes, a lb is alot for a tiny yorkie. He does this really cute 'hi' thing w/his paws & I can't not give him treats! I guess it's mommie's fault...
