Yorkie not drinking Hello everybody. Peanut just had spay surgery 1/30/09. She's doing great, however on Friday, 2/6, she developed severe diarrhea and vet put her on Pro Pectalin Gel. We gave her two doses and now she is having trouble going #2. She went one time yesterday morning and none since. Plus, she is not drinking water. Has anybody every used this medication before and if so, what results should I look for after I've stopped. Also, is Gatorade ok to give her or should I use Pedialyte. She has only drank approx. 1/8 cup of water in 2 days. Thank you...Sheryl, Bartlett, IL (PeanutAnn Mommie)

Maybe you should try the canned pumpkin (no spices). You can add some honey to the water, or give pedialite. Good luck!

Back when Nikko was really sick and I was worried he wasn't getting enough to drink, I boiled a boneless skinless trimmed chicken breast, and he would drink the water it was boiled in even when he refused plain water. Good luck, I hope she feels better.

I'd just mix in a good size spoonful with something you know he likes, and will eat (canned food?)
