| Yorkie on Stage 2 Baby Food Diet My little Sassy turned 14 in June so she's getting up there in age. Which means different types of health problems. For the last few years she's been having troubles with her tummy. According to the Vet, her little intestines just can't take table/people foods any more. One of the worst foods, according to her Vet, that I gave her...... was Ham, over the last holiday and boy did that send her into a mind boggling illness that took her vet a few months to get her back on the healthy track again. I felt awful knowing that my feeding her the people food caused her to go through so much pain. But like he told me, what she could eat a week or month ago in the way of human foods, all of a sudden turned on her and attacked her intestinally. She developed what he called an intestinal virus. He had her on all different types of diets which would work for a while then POW! she'd be sick again. Finally he put her on Stage 2 baby foods and she's been a bundle of energy ever since. She loves the foods, I still give her a small amount of dry food for lunch to keep her teeth tartar free. But she can never have people food again. It would activate the virus and next time she may not pull through. So even though it's hard as heck to look at her adorable little loving cutey patootie face, as she begs for my food, I just hold my ground and know I'm keeping her healthy by not feeding her my food or scraps from the table. Her dry food is a special blend for sensitive stomachs and so are the doggie treats I give her. Sometimes we forget just how delicate our little babies are since their so full of themselves...ha.ha They think they can take on the biggest of the pack and never ever do they back down. They don't know fear and act so tough and strong. But these little ones have delicate tummy's especially as they age. My little one used to be able to eat just about any kind of people foods, but when she reached 13 her tummy started acting up till finally we pin pointed what the problem was. Talk about a mommy feeling super bad for causing the pain and the problem......I felt like digging a hole and burying myself.. But all has worked out and Little Miss sassy and I are having the times of our lives. I treasure each second that I still have with her. She's got half my heart and all my love |

| My last yorkie and my heart and soul had to be fed the I/D prescription food for sensitive stomach's also. I mixed it with the chicken and chicken gravy and turkey and turkey gravy in the stage 2 foods. He was also in the early stages of kidney failure. He lived another 5 years and really did quite well. I give my new baby Harley a small amount of baby food with any pills he needs to take and he just gobbles it up. I'm glad your baby is doing so well with it too! harley's mom |
