| Help! itchy skin and weird poo Can anybody give me advice as im worried about Toby my 11month chorkie. A couple of weeks ago i noticed that him and billy my other dog had fleas. I used spot on, flea shampoo and a comb an within a week they were all gone. Ive been flea combing them since to keep a check to make sure there are no more. The problem is they are both still itching alot. Ive noticed toby's skin especially looks a little red in places. Also his poo has been really strange lately. It is full of little white lumps which look like sesame seeds but he hasnt eaten anything different to usual He had worms a couple of months ago but i cured that but his appetite still isnt as good as it used to be and im really worried especially about the funny poo. |

| I'm no expert but.....I have been told that Yorkies have dry skin and my baby did have dry skin so I got some Omega 3 (it's in a plastic bottle, it's in liquid form from the Pet store) and I put a 1/4 teaspoon in with her dry food 3 times a week. It took care of the dry skin right away and she wan't scratching or itching any more. As far as the funny poo, just bring a sample of poo down to the Vet and they can test it right away for parasites. Funny poo = something not right in the digestive system. Don't let that go on for to long. Good Luck! |

YT 2000 Club Member | Sounds like he has tapeworm to me, they come from eating fleas. Tapeworm isnt usually treated with the same kind of medicine that they use for ringworm. You need to take him the vets and they will give him a one time pill.

| Well i managed to get in the vets today as i was so worried about Toby and i took in a poo sample. It turns out he has eaten loads of polystyrene. I told the vet how both my dogs are chewing and eating things and she said that they should sleep in a crate at night so they cant chew or i should muzzle them in the house. Im not going to do this as i dont think its nice for the dogs. Does anyone have any ideas on stopping dogs chewing? |
